Margie Louise Thornton

Margie Louise Thornton, 83, of Malvern passed away January 14, 2014. Margie was born January 18, 1930 in Social Hill to Norman and Opal Rouse. Margie was very family oriented and loved following her grandkids activities. She would rather have a picture of her grandkids than receive any gifts. She had traditional values and supported her God, country, and family. She enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars, old TV shows, and movies.
Margie is predeceased by her parents and infant son, Gene Edwin Thornton.
Margie is survived by her son, Ricky (Pam) Thornton of Hot Springs Village; daughter, Kathy Thornton Clayton of Malvern; sister, Dorothy Bearden of Malvern; four grandchildren: Justin Thornton, Tiffany Goetze, Bree Clayton, and Savannah Clayton; and five great-grandchildren: Nordika Goetze, Adelein Goetze, Stryker Goetze, Kallie Thornton, and Jordyn Thornton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Atkinson Chapel. Burial will be at Social Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Bettis, J Keith, Mike Thornton, Justin Thornton, Jimmy Powell, and Ed Cornell.
