Arvel Truvaughn Wilson passed away at the Hot Springs County Hospital in Malvern, Arkansas on February 16, 2014 at the age of 87. Truvaughn was born to Robert and Tennie Mae Wilson on November 18, 1926 in the Deroche community.
Truvaughn attended Malvern High School until entering the Navy when he was 17. After two years in the Navy he attended Ouachita Baptist University and earned a degree in History. He taught school at Magnet Cove and Bismarck before working as a shipping foreman and later as a computer programmer at Reynolds Metals Company in Arkadelphia. He retired from Reynolds after 35 years.
Truvaughn was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Bilyegene Nichols Wilson (49 years) and Beverly Gilbert Wilson; and sister Peggy Gullett.
Survivors include his wife, Jasmine Elliot Wilson; son Doug Wilson; granddaughter Jennifer Rigsby (Jeremy); grandson Matt Wilson (Sara); and one great grandson Alex Jeremy Rigsby.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern, Arkansas. Service will be at 10:00 am at Delamar Cemetery on Thursday, February 20, 2014 with Reverend Anne Russ officiating.
