    Ingo A. Opiela, 66, passed away September 27, 2014 in Solingen, Germany.
    Ingo was born November 20, 1947 to the late Richard Opiela and late Anneliese Opiela in Altrandsberg (Bavaria) Germany. Ingo finished high school and joined the Marines at age 18. He stayed 8 years and became the youngest officer at age 21 in the German Marines. After 8 years, he returned home and worked for a few years in insurance, but later on went back to college and worked as a machine engineer for over 30 years until his retirement 2 years ago. His hobbies were fishing, reading, and going hiking. He was a member of St. Suibertus Catholic Church.
    Ingo is predeceased by his father, Richard Opiela; his mother, Anneliese Opiela; his brother, Karl-Heinz Opiela; and his infant sister, Renate Opiela.
    Surviving relatives are his son, Thore Opiela and wife; daughter, Claudia; sisters, Anneliese Veliagic (Ruzdo) and Lilian Maria Brown (Johnny) from Malvern, AR; nephews, Richard Lee Stiles of New York and Dennis Veliagic of Schwelm, Germany; niece, Nadin M. Bani (Gregoire) of Langenfeld, Germany; great-niece, Aaliyah; aunt, Gisela Hinz; and uncle, Heinz Bank of Borgsdorf, Germany.
    The love of his life, Ursula Schneider (girlfriend for over 20 years) was at his side daily and Ursula’s daughter, Silke helped Ingo numerous times and was there for him during his illness. His wish to be buried at sea will be carried out at a later date. Lilian and her sister, Anneliese along with other family, will attend a private memorial service over Skype in the coming weeks, since she cannot go home to Germany at this time.
