  • Ruby Mae Bridges, 86 of Malvern passed away June 25, 2015. Ruby was a Malvern resident since 1942 and a devout Christian and member of the First Pentecostal Church. She was retired from Chamber Doors of Hot Springs, AR. She could often be seen walking her dog on East Mill Street and loved gardening and keeping her yard. She was born as Ruby Mae Heath on June 17, 1929 in Arkansas to William and Ollie Heath and had nine other siblings, Emmer Dean Heath, Martha Rosalee Fears, Lilly Beatrice Heath, Lorene Magdalene Funderburk, Barney Calvin Heath, William Herbert Heath, James Odell Heath, Eula Fay Williams, and the only surviving sibling, Mary Cecile Littles.

    Ruby is predeceased by her sons, Richard Hiram Holmes, and Ronnie Glen Byers.

    Ruby is survived by her sons, Wilber Franklin Byers Jr. of Malvern, and Randall Shane Sawyer of Malvern; daughter, Wilma Passmore of OK; 10 grandchildren who will miss her dearly, Richard Clayton, Michael Richard Holmes, Gary Edwards Hardin Jr., Eric Byers, Logan Byers, Joshua Byers, Ronnie Glen Byers Jr., Steven Richard Sawyer, David Christopher Sawyer, and Mistaya Skye Sawyer; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss her dearly.

    Services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM at First Pentecostal Church with Rev. J. Elwood Peters officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 AM just prior to services. Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be her family and close friends.
