Lois O'Neal

Lois O’Neal, 89, departed this life June 11, 2016.  She was born in Saline County Arkansas to Henry and Edna (Wilson) Bearden on September 14, 1926. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Malvern. Lois was a registered nurse who worked in nursing for over 40 years.  Lois was a dedicated woman to her profession and husband whom she was proudly married to for 66 years. Lois also enjoyed gardening and canning.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gene, Blake, and Rodney Bearden, sisters, Gladys Tidwell, Narrie, Arlene, Pauline Bearden and step-mother, Maxine Bearden.

Lois is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William “Bill” O’Neal, whom she married June 21, 1950. Her brothers, Marvin (Margie) Bearden, Ira (Ruth) Bearden, sisters, Jewell (Clarence) Johnson, Blanche (Jim) Record, Maudie Canada, Mary (Russell) Bigelow, and sisters-in-laws, Donna Bearden and Betty Bearden. Also many special nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dave Cash officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Pallbearers will be John Bearden, Gary Bearden, Dale Johnson, Allan Bearden, Don Benham, Ricky Lockridge and James Johnson. Interment will follow service at Alford Cemetery.
