  • Woodard Scrimshire, 100, of Malvern passed away November 23, 2016. Woodard was born to the late Joe and Lucy Scrimshire on May 24, 1916 in Willow, AR. He was a member of the Third Baptist Church. He was retiree from Acme Brick and the Perla Water Association. Woodard also served his country in the United States Army where he was a WWII veteran and a member of the CCC.

    Woodard is preceded in death by his first wife, Zoie Lowry Scrimshire, his second wife, Alma Morris Scrimshire, his parents, one daughter, Lucy Scrimshire, an infant son, Allen Lee Scrimshire, and five brothers, Coleman, Perry, Orvel, Harold and Nelson.

    Woodard is survived by his son, Lewis (Judy) Scrimshire of Longmount, CO; his daughters, Martha (Milton) Wade of NM; Ann (Dan) Veach of Little Rock; his brother, James Scrimshire of Kemp, TX; his sisters, Mildred Karraker of Arlington, TX; Aniece Fugit of Longview, WA; Janet Ducote of Ft. Worth, TX; Joe Ann Morris of Mitchell, IN; Melba Peters of Malvern; and 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

    Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 2:00PM in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donis Smead officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Adams, Hunter Adams, Jimbo Scrimshire, Eugene Clift, Wes Pate and Jim Scrimshire.

    Mr. Scrimshire was a fine gentleman who I truly enjoyed knowing and caring for over many years. May God comfort his family and loved ones.
