Dois Smith, 74, of Malvern, passed away November 28, 2016. Dois was born to the late Virgue and Carrie Bodiford on April 6, 1942 in Arkansas City, AR. She was a member of the Francois Missionary Baptist Church.  Dois had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She was never one to meet a stranger. She loved teaching the word of God in her Sunday school classes, as her husband pastored the churches.  Dois was a school bus driver for Harmony Grove and Glen Rose School Districts.  Even with her small size, she was able to maneuver the buses with ease. Dois was a wonderful cook, feeding anyone who had an appetite. She made her bread, rolls, biscuits and pies from scratch. A favorite memory is Dois in the kitchen, kneading the dough with her small hands. Dois and her cooking will be missed so much.

Dois is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, W.T. Smith, her son Carl Smith, a grandchild, Timothy Tompkins.

Dois is survived by her daughters, Linda Smith Cook of Glen Rose; Wanda (George) Anderson of Royal; her brother, Brice Bodiford of Traskwood; and her brother-in-law, James George Smith. She also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Emily Cook, Karena Tucker and one great-grandchild, Shaylah Basham.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2016  in the Atkinson Chapel with Dr. W.A. Dillard officiating. Interment will be at Francois Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Even though I did not know your Mother well, my Mother called her friend and held her in the highest regard. Great to know that through God's grace they are both enjoying the splendors of heaven.

I enjoyed many wonderful hours with Bro. and Sister Smith. Loved them both very dearly. Sister Smith was alway smiling and loved everyone. Always ready and willing to help in anyway she could. Very Special to me. I was very fortunate to attend church with them as Bro. Smith was my pastor and Baptized me in the creek when it was snowing and freezing rain. But the Lord kept us warm on that day. Sister Smith was ready at the edge of the water with blankets for both of us. Very dear to me. Special memories of both of them. Love you Linda and Emily very much. You are both very special and to to me also.
