    8 Sep 2017

  • Betty Avola Holler Sutton, born August 30, 1927 in Fort Smith, AR, went to be with our Heavenly Father and her loved ones that are already there on September 8, 2017.   She lived for 90 years.  89 years and 10 months of those were good, healthy years.  She was always young at heart. Our family was truly blessed to have her and she will be dearly missed.  We have a lifetime of fun and happy memories.

She is a descendant of pioneer stock, with her mother being born in Indian Territory, her great grandfather, Harrison Jones, being killed in the line of duty as a town constable in the very early days of Bartlesville, OK, and her great uncle, Charles “Gristmill” Jones being the first mayor of Oklahoma City.  The pioneering spirit never left her.  She worked at Camp Crowder in Neosho, MO during World War II where she met her husband. She loved to camp and fish and even planned fishing trips after she got out of the hospital.   She also loved to travel, shop, eat out and play Bunco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Sutton; her mother, Lola Holler; her father, Karl Holler; brothers, Charles Holler, Johnny Holler, and Richard Holler.  She is survived by: her children, Danny Sutton and Patricia of Canton, North Carolina; Roseanna and Horace Douglas of Malvern; and Janet Williams of Bryant.  Grandchildren are:  Alana Wood, Brian Douglas, Rachel Clark, and Vincent Williams.  Great grandchildren are: Justin Denham, Jacob Douglas, John Albritton and Jeff Albritton.  Great-great granddaughters are Zolee Denham and Miracle Robertson.

Graveside Services will be Monday, September 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bismarck, AR.

Roseanna, Janet, Danny, My heart and prayers are with you. Aunt Betty was the last of a wonderful, special generation in our family and it's hard to say goodbye. I am thankful that she lived so long and had a healthy, active life and left so many wonderful memories to cherish! I loved hearing Daddy tell of the trouble he would get into "because of my sister!" I could tell how much he loved her just by how he spoke of her and it meant so much to him that she came down to see him before he passed. September 11th is his birthday and this year, she will be in Heaven with him for the celebration! My thoughts have been with you during this time of transition; I know how hard it is and I'm here if you ever need me! Love to all, Debbie
