  • Troy Clayton ”Pat” Ross, age 87, passed from this life on October, 3, 2017. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend to many. He was born and raised in Rolla, graduating from Lono High School. He was married to Mary Cunningham on July 16, 1949.

    Pat was a long-time member of the E. Mill Church of Christ. For most of his adult life he was a loyal employee of Clem Wholesale Grocer Co., eventually becoming co-owner.

    Pat is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary and three children, Linda McDade (Tom), Randall Ross (Karen) and Paula Jones. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Stephanie McKinley (Keith), Michael Higdon (Paula), Rebecca Hogue (Kass), Nick Jones (Sarah), Jessica Reyes (Jaime) and Eric Jones, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

    Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern.  Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Avaritt officiating. Interment will be at the L`Eau Fraiz Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Randall Ross, Nick Jones, Eric Jones, Keith McKinley, Mike Higdon and Andrew Tucker.

    Pat Ross was my father and the strongest, bravest man I've ever known. Unlike so many people today, he was not afraid to stand up for what was right. God and family were his hobbies and he showed his love for both not with words but with actions. The world would be a much better place if everyone had a father like him.
