    Erma Jean Ray, 83, of Batesville, formerly of Malvern passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Erma was born March 2, 1935, in Texarkana, AR to the late William and Eula Bolton Bearden.  Erma was preceded in death by her parents William and Eula Bearden; her husband of 32 years, John Frank Ray; her daughter, Shirley Edwards; a son-in-law, James Cobb and all of her siblings.

    Erma is survived by her daughters, Cathy Gathright (John), Dorothy Cobb, Wilma Applegate (Juli Reding), Brenda Wilburn (David Williams), and Leda Hicks, as well as several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that will miss her dearly.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at 1:00 pm in the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern. Services will immediately follow the visitation.

    Burial will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Batesville, AR.

    I am truly sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in the scripture at Acts 24:15. This is what our God Jehovah promises for us all. And we can look forward to what is written in Psalm 37:9-11 and 29.
