    Elmer L. Nugent, 87, of Malvern passed away January 4, 2019. Elmer was born to the late Theodore and Fercy Lee Grigsby Nugent in Oak Grove on March 20, 1931. Elmer served his country in the United States Army. He was also a Gun Enthusiast with numerous Gun Enthusiast friends.

    Elmer is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia Nugent; his sons, David Nugent (Debra) and Mark Nugent (Nora); his brother, Calvin Nugent (Carol); Terry Nugent; nephews, Michael Nugent, and Daniel Nugent; sister, A.G. Nugent Ellis (Marvin); niece, Linda Webster; grandchildren, Heather Nugent Boyett (Dirk), Bryan Lee Riggan (Andrea), great-great-grandchildren, Preslee Boyett, Grayson Boyett, and Madison Riggan.

    Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alvin Nugent and a nephew, Marvin Ellis.

    Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2019, from 6-8 pm at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the Atkinson Chapel. Pallbearers will be David Nugent, Mark Nugent, Donnie Patrick, Sean Pierce, Bryan Riggan, and Dirk Boyett. Honorary pallbearers are Derik Hogan, Jimmy Williams, Wayne Nugent, Jerry Langley, and Richard Denham. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

    My thoughts and prayers are with the Nugent family as we lose another Nugent. Sorry I can not attend to represent Tommy but I know he's with Bugs and sending love your way.
